First Thursdays and Open Design host ‘Open Thursday’ on 29 August, a special East City edition of First Thursdays in celebration of the Open Design Festival. Studios, galleries, museums and shops between Darling Street, Mill Street, Canterbury Street and Plein/St Johns Street will participate.

The New B&W Photography:
A film photography exhibition we’re hosting with This is Film and Orms. Artists include Brian Molepo, Lesedi M.J. Mogale, Jess Sara Wright, Mpho Mokgadi, Reatile Moalusi, Katja Marr, Torne Leigh Velk, Theodore Afrika, Jessica Hunkin and Sipho Mpongo.

Studio 41 hosts the opening of the Towards 2014: Black & Yellow exhibition. Music by Tape Hiss and Sparkle.

Drink ‘n Draw:
Drink ‘n Draw is the launch of 1000 Drawings Cape Town doodle sessions at Twenty Fifty. The rules? “Draw Anything, with Anything, on Anything A5”. The drawings, photographs, collages, and paintings, all done on A5, will form part of an exhibition in the Cape Town City Hall in March/April 2014. The drawings are sold in aid of charity.
