The Handle Bar in Sea Point is a unique combination between a bicycle shop, and a café. Here they sell and fix bikes and gear, but also serve a mean cup of coffee.
The Handle Bar ticks all the right boxes for an Out of Office hangout: Deluxe coffee, Wi-Fi and loads of seating. The menu is adapted to suit their unique space. All their bites are healthy, but homey, and include anything from homemade muffins, granola and wraps or salads, to nutritional meal-replacement shakes and protein bars. There is also a rumour going around that their menu might expand to include some waffles and milkshakes, “just for balance’s sake” manager Drew jokingly adds.
Owners Jason Lind and Nick Wright are both passionate about cycling, commuting and coffee, and The Handle Bar strikes the perfect balance between these. Interestingly, Jason’s family owns Olympic Cycles. If you don’t cycle, that’s okay too, since the atmosphere here is relaxed enough to just have a coffee, check some mails, or even have an out of the office meeting.
They’re situated at 100 Main road, Seapoint and open 7am to 5pm Weekdays, and 7am to 1pm on a Saturday.
Check them out on Facebook, Twitter, or on their website.
